Champions For Mercy Golf Tournament
Registration Is Open for Champions for Mercy Golf Tournament on May 10
Orange Park, FL — The second annual Jack Myers Champions for Mercy Golf Tournament is scheduled Friday, May 10, at the Eagle Harbor Golf Club in Fleming Island, FL. With prizes, contests, food and fun, proceeds from the tournament benefit displaced families and children in Clay County who receive support from Mercy Support Services.
Registration for the tournament starts at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. and a 4-person scramble format. The Captain’s Choice competition will include multiple prizes and there will be awards for a putting challenge, longest drive, and closest to the pin contests. Lunch and dinner will be served and tournament awards given immediate following play, during dinner.
Registration is $100 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, riding cart, goody bag, lunch and dinner and awards. The event also includes a silent auction and door prizes. Golf attire is required and the tournament is open to anyone age 14 or older.
Mercy Support Services was founded in 2012 to provide help to displaced families, single parents and homeless children and adults in Clay County. Working collaboratively with churches and other non-profits agencies, Mercy helps Clay County families in crisis who need assistance to get back on their feet.
Last year Mercy received over 2,250 calls in the Call Center, helping more than 5,000 people in Clay County. In 2018 alone, more than 25 families avoided homelessness through the Self-Sufficiency program, Eviction Prevention program and Rapid Rehousing program.
