Early in 2010, after hearing repeated pleas for services for homeless families in Clay County, leaders of The Mercy Network decided to step out in faith to make provision for them. Today, the Mercy Network, now known as Mercy Support Services, administers a Self-Sufficiency Program that also offers housing to help families get back on their feet.

Resource Referral Call Center

Each month, more than 200 Clay County families and individuals make a call to Mercy Support Services. Staffed primarily by volunteers, the Resource Referral Call Center identifies the needs of the caller and matches him/her with the appropriate resources. Since its beginning in 2012, the Call Center has handled more than 14,000 calls for assistance, including help with finances and housing.

Care Coaching

Due to the stress that a person in crisis is experiencing, Mercy Support Services trains volunteers to be their advocates and to help access resources on their behalf. The trained Mercy Care Coach oversees case management plans, which professional care coaches have created to help clients become self-sufficient. Mercy Support Coach training is done bi-monthly at the offices of Mercy Support Services.
